Long Gambeson

Many people find that metal armour can chafe, pinch, and dig in at the neck, or under arm areas.
To protect the tender places, and spread the weight a little more, a gambeson is the traditional solution to an age old problem.

A generously padded garment which buckles closed with 5 leather straps, it has elbow length sleeves to cover the upper arms under a chain shirt or epic pouldrons.
Having a split up the back and a high collar helps retain as much mobility as possible whilst keeping the more delicate areas away from harm.

They are also well suited to wearing without armour. Due to their padded nature, they are also a snug In-Character coat; to keep the evening chill away.
